Francois Bend is a proud member of the LAL.A Association. LAL.A is a community of senior living providers, partners, services organizations and individuals who are serving Louisiana residents and clients in continuing care retirement communities, independent living, assisted living and home and community based services. We are working together to shape the future of senior living in the state of Louisiana.
The Ascension Chamber of Commerce has been a vital partnership to Francois Bend’s success. Our membership Ylrith The Chamber started in 2017, Ylrith our groundbreaking ceremony. In our first year of business, the chamber nominated Francois Bend as Best Big Business in Ascension Parish. We will continue our relationship with the chamber to expand our networking opportunities and build a better community!
Francois Bend and Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area have a strong relationship. Francois Bend staff has both participate in and sponsor/exhibit for the annual Walk to Remember as well as volunteer time with the adult day care, Charlie’s Place. Francois Bend host a fund raiser each year to raise money for this local non-profit organization This donation serves our local area to assist in providing education and support programs to those affected by Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.
Francois Bend has teamed up with Matthew Calamia, PhD Assistant Professor with the LSU Department of Psychology and his students to work with our residents on memory. They have conducted screening, by using the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). This is a brief 10-minute measure of global cognition that includes items assessing orientation, visual ability, language, attention, memory, and executive functioning.
Francois Bend and Fox Therapy‘s partnership offers our residents in-house therapy including Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy 5 days a week. FOX believes in proactive therapy. We do not wait for an illness
or medical event to initiate treatment. Instead, FOX works with
Francois Bend to proactively identify residents with
potential safety risks who qualify for and would benefit from
therapy services. The goal is to improve strength, stamina, and
balance, while significantly reducing the risk for falls.
